A hero who became famous more than twenty years ago in the 1988 Bionic Commando game, is back! Destiny mercilessly treated Nathan Spencer. Having gained a heavy victory over the enemies of his state, he did not need his own government. Moreover, the authorities saw Nathan as a threat and decided to get rid of him - the warrior was accused of crimes he did not commit, and sentenced to death. So the veteran would have died at the hands of the executioner, not appearing on the horizon a new threat. Right on the day of the execution of Nathan, a certain terrorist organization attacked the city of Essen City (Ascension City). Using experimental weapons of mass destruction, extremists caused a strong earthquake that turned the metropolis into ruins. In addition, the criminals established control over the city´s air defense weapons, depriving the authorities of the possibility to send troops through the air. As a result, the government was left with nothing but to hastily amnesty the commando-checked commandos and send it to the enemy rear!
