Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is a video game in the genre beat ´em up, developed by the British studio Rare for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and released in 1993 by Nintendo and Tradewest.
According to the plot, toads visit a secluded fortress, located among the mountains of northern Tibet, where the corporation Psikon is testing its new game system with an incredibly deep immersion in virtual reality. Suddenly an anthropomorphic swine breaks out of the screen, serving the Dark Queen and Silus Volkmair, and kidnaps the daughter of the company´s president, Mitiko Taseko, and Zitz, who tried to save the girl. Remaining in the real world, the frogs decide to follow them, save their friends and prevent the villains from planning to take over the world.
You can play either alone or together, while the player can choose one of the two toads, Pimpla or Rush. Characters have a unique set of techniques and various combinations of strokes - in terms of gameplay the game is a classic representative of the genre "beat them all" and adheres to the traditions of the previous parts. The past, as before, is drawn in a cartoon humorous style, the toads fight with opponents, using regularly theatricalized strokes of mercy, when their limbs increase to huge sizes or turn into an object such as an anvil or a pood. The level of complexity is still very high.
