In any position (familiarity), any of the symbols of the code table can be displayed - the uppercase or lowercase letter of the Latin or Russian alphabet, the service sign (plus, minus, dot, etc.), the pseudo-graphic symbol, and a graphic image of almost every control character.
The main characteristics of the image in the graphic mode - the resolution of the video adapter, ie, the number of points displayed horizontally and vertically, and the number of possible colors of each point. The resolution of a specific adapter depends on the mode of its operation. In typical cases, EGA displays 640 points horizontally and 350 lines, VGA - 640 points and 480 lines, SVGA - 640x480, 800x600, 1924x768. The number of possible colors for each point (palette) depends on the type of adapter, and on its resolution, and on the amount of video memory allocated by the computer to the adapter.
