Additional information

Relevance
Fracture of the femur is about 17% in the structure of injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Of these, fractures of the femoral neck occur in 50% -55% of cases, in the vertical region-35% -40% and 5% -10% in the susceptible region. The need for prolonged bed rest, many months of treatment and high mortality (20 to 40% or more) give the problem a special significance.
Skeletal traction is one of the basic orthopedic methods of treating injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and their consequences - deformities, contractures, scarring. The method is based on the gradual repositioning of bone fragments with the help of various loads and their subsequent retention in the correct anatomical position until the callus is formed. Patients trapped in the traumatology department with various fractures and who are on skeletal traction are required, long-term care and close attention of the nurse in the hospital and the subsequent care of the home.
