The Browning Automatic Rifle

The Browning automatic rifle was with switchable firing mode, had air cooling and a gas cartridge supply mechanism, and was equipped with a 20 or 40 cartridge magazine. The original Browning rifles, which were originally equipped with military units of the US Army, had two modes of shooting - semi-automatic and fully automatic and had a rate of 550 rounds per minute. During the Second World War, the design of this rifle was improved. Now there was no semi-automatic shooting mode in it, it was possible to fire from it only in a fully automatic mode — either low (with a rate of fire of 350 rounds per minute) or high (550 rounds per minute).
During the First World War, more than 100,000 Browning rifles were produced, however, many batches of weapons did not reach the front due to the end of hostilities. Like the first French machine guns of the First World War, the Browning automatic rifle could also be used in a group of three soldiers — the shooter, the loader, and the cartridges carrier. Such groups were part of the regular infantry units and enjoyed success.
