The portable anti-aircraft missile system "Strela-2" is a powerful weapon for direct cover of motorized rifle, tank, and parachute-landing subunits from air enemy attacks, mainly from low altitudes. The complex can effectively destroy visually observed air targets that radiate heat energy, as a rule, on the catch-up courses, and low-speed and immobile air targets (hovering helicopters) - and on the oncoming courses.
