Lab number 5 Study of the thyristor

1. Objective
The study of the structure, the operating principle of the thyristor, its main parameters and characteristics.

3. Targets and performance of laboratory work
3.1. Explore CVC thyristor.
To investigate the current-voltage characteristics of the thyristor via EWB should:
0 assemble the circuit shown in Fig. 5.4;
0 to remove the dependence of the thyristor of I = f (U) of the anode current for three current control values, since Iupr = 0.

Coordinates CVC points removed using voltmeters and ammeters. The measurement results are recorded in Table 5.1.

3.2. According to the data obtained to build the CVC thyristor.

CVC thyristor can be obtained in the mode of variation of voltage and current - DC Sweep.
Play the schematic diagram (Fig. 5.6) in the computer environment EWB, denoting the number of nodes along the path of the circuit (Circuit \ Schematic Options \ Show Nodes \ OK).

3.3. Identify the basic parameters of the thyristor:
switching voltage UON - the lowest forward voltage, which switches the thyristor from the closed to the open state;
inrush current Іvkl - minimum forward current of the thyristor after switching on;
holding current Іud - minimum forward current, which is flowing through the thyristor at the open-loop control circuit, not off it.
