To determine nickel with dimethylglyoxime, the sample is dissolved and the solution is diluted to 100.0 ml. Add the necessary reagents to 5.00 ml of the solution, dilute it with water to 50.0 ml and photometer at an effective wavelength of 470 nm in a cuvette with a light absorbing layer thickness of 1.0 cm. The molar coefficient of light absorption of nickel dimethylglyoximate at this wavelength is 13000. Calculate the mass weights for analysis if the optimum optical density of 0.435 and the approximate weight fraction (%) of nickel in the steel is 0.5%.
